I’ve been around computers since the late eighties. My first machine had two floppy drives and no hard drive. I dialed into BBS communities before the internet existed, watched the web take off with Netscape, and saw every major tech wave that came after. I’ve also spent over twelve years inside the online business and affiliate marketing world, which means I’ve watched plenty of hype cycles play out up close.
That second part is why this site exists.
Why This Site Is Here
AI is the latest big wave, and it’s a real one. The tools actually help with real work. But the hype machine wrapped around AI is the same hype machine that’s been running on every “new opportunity” for the last twenty years. Different packaging, same playbook.
If you’ve been online for a while, you know what I mean. The $997 courses promising six figures in ninety days, the done-for-you systems that quietly weren’t, the offers you maybe paid for yourself and walked away from feeling foolish about. Same patterns, new branding every few years.
That’s the reader this site is for. Someone who is curious about using AI to build real online income but careful with their money, suspicious of easy promises, and tired of being talked at by people selling a fantasy. People already running a thriving online business probably won’t get much from this site, and that’s fine. This site is for the person still deciding whether any of it is worth trying.
What This Site Actually Does
Three things, mostly.
Plain takes on AI tools through a business-building lens. What each tool is good for, what it isn’t, what it costs, and who it actually helps.
Practical content on specific platforms and the legitimate paths through them. That covers Wealthy Affiliate as a platform, the major AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Copilot, and the real uses behind the buzzwords. (Yes, Wealthy Affiliate is an affiliate relationship for me. I’ll always say so when it comes up.)
Direct calls on the AI-powered nonsense being sold right now. The fake automation pitches, the unrealistic income claims, the offers built to prey on people who haven’t seen this movie before.
If you want a tour through every shiny new AI tool that launched this week, this is the wrong site.
Why Listen to Me
I am not a developer. I am not an AI researcher. I am not going to pretend I understand how neural networks work at a mathematical level.
There’s also no guru pitch waiting at the end of this page.
What I am is someone who has spent decades watching technology come and go, and over twelve years inside the online business world watching the same con games get rerun under new names. I know what an honest tool looks like, and I know what a polished pitch with nothing behind it looks like. That pattern recognition is what I bring to the site, and it’s experience paid for the hard way.
I’m also a translator, in a specific sense. There’s plenty of legitimate insider knowledge in the online business world, but most of it gets locked behind paid courses, sales funnels, or content that assumes you already know what an autoresponder is. My job is to take the parts that actually matter and rewrite them honestly for someone on the outside who is trying to figure out what’s real.
What You Won’t Find Here
You won’t find make-money-while-you-sleep content here, and you won’t find a guru pitch dressed up as advice. Reviews don’t change based on which company has the best affiliate payout. If something is overhyped, I’ll say so. If a tool is worth paying for, I’ll explain exactly why. If I don’t know, I’ll say that too.
My Promise
If I recommend something, I’ve used it or I’ve done the research, and where there’s an affiliate relationship I’ll say so plainly. If something carries risk, you’ll hear about it before you spend any money. If a popular tool or course isn’t worth your time, I’ll tell you that, even when telling you would have cost me a commission.
The reader I write for is careful, skeptical, and tired of being sold to. That reader deserves honest help to use AI and build something real, without getting misled.
